Stress and Self Esteem

Stress and low self esteem often go hand in hand. When life feels relentless you might struggle to switch off, sleep or concentrate, and a harsh inner critic can leave you feeling not good enough. Counselling offers time to step back, be heard and start treating yourself with more kindness.

How counselling can help with stress and self esteem

  • Making sense of the pressure: Together we can look at what is causing your stress, from work and money to family and relationships, and how it is affecting you.

  • Understanding your inner critic: Many people carry critical beliefs about themselves from earlier in life. Counselling offers a space to notice and question those beliefs.

  • Finding your own ways to cope: In person centred counselling I won't hand you a list of techniques. I will support you to discover what genuinely helps you feel calmer and more grounded.

  • Building self worth: Feeling accepted and understood in counselling can help you recognise your strengths and value yourself more.

  • Setting boundaries: As confidence grows, many people find it easier to say no, ask for what they need and protect their wellbeing.
