Addiction & Gambling
Gambling and other addictions can take a heavy toll on your finances, relationships, work and wellbeing. Often there is shame or secrecy too, which makes it harder to ask for help. Counselling offers a confidential space to talk honestly about what is happening, without being judged.

How counselling can help with addiction and gambling
-
Talking openly: Many people have never told anyone the full story. Being able to speak freely, without judgement, is often the first step towards change.
-
Understanding the pull: Together we can explore what the addiction gives you, what it costs you, and what might sit underneath it, such as stress, loneliness or painful experiences.
-
Noticing triggers: Counselling can help you recognise the situations, feelings and thoughts that tend to lead to gambling or using, so you can respond to them differently.
-
Finding what works for you: I will support you to find your own ways of coping and to make the changes that feel right for you, at a pace you can manage.
-
Rebuilding: Addiction can damage trust and self worth. Counselling can support you as you repair relationships, rebuild confidence and plan for setbacks.

I offer addiction and gambling counselling face to face in Portsmouth, Southsea, Havant and Waterlooville, and online across the UK. Counselling can also work well alongside other support such as GamCare or your GP.
